Breville Smart Grinder

When easy isn’t easy enough, the Breville Smart Grinder steps in to take care of things. This conical burr grinder combines technology with classic design to yield the perfect amount of grind each time. There’s no use in buying an espresso machine or any type of coffee maker for that matter if you’re coffee isn’t ground properly.
Determining the right grind isn’t always straightforward for beginners, but the Smart Grinder’s Dosing IQ system takes care of everything. It has 25 settings for all types of coffee makers, including French presses and espresso machines. You can use the LCD to tell it how many shots or cups you are making, and it will churn out the exact amount of coffee grounds you need. The removable hopper holds one pound of freshly roasted goodness. Two portafilters and a cleaning brush are also included. There is also a collector on the bottom for catching loose grounds before they hit the counter.

With convenience comes price, however. The Smart Grinder will set you back $200 or more. That being said, quality coffee grinders aren’t cheap. A decent grinder is an investment that will pay for itself over time– you just can’t beat the taste of freshly ground coffee. It’s like opening up a new bag of coffee every day, but better. A burr grinder such as the Breville Smart Grinder produces more consistent results than a cheaper blade grinder, especially when producing fine grinds.
I think this burr grinder is a good choice for many households because it takes the guess work out of grinding. You can crawl out of bed, push a few buttons and throw the ground coffee into your espresso machine or press. That’s worth something. This Breville coffee grinder will not only save you 3-5 minutes every morning, but will probably prevent some ruined batches as well. You can’t mess up when the results are presented right there in front of you on a screen.
If anything, the Breville Smart Grinder is a cool and useful gadget for the kitchen. An experienced barista probably doesn’t need the built-in settings, but they are also a useful convenience. Also keep in mind that the Breville Smart Grinder is a relatively new product on the market and only has a one-year warranty. Thus the electronics and other components haven’t been tested for long-term durability, although the the Breville’s build quality isn’t cheap by any means. This is a solid machine that should hold up.
